- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be scheduled to appear for the Class 12 Board exam or an equivalent examination with subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
- Minimum Marks: General category candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For reserved category candidates, the minimum requirements are 45% for General PWD and 40% for SC, ST, OBC, and Reserved PWD categories.
- Age Criteria: Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or should attain this age by December 31, 2025. Therefore, the candidate’s date of birth should be on or before December 31, 2008. To appear in the NEET UG exam, there is no upper age limit.
- Nationality: Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/BDS from a foreign university must also qualify for NEET 2025.
- Additional Subjects and Open Schooling: As per the changes introduced last year, candidates who have studied or are studying Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as additional subjects are eligible to appear for NEET 2025. Additionally, candidates who have completed their schooling from Open Schools are also eligible.

Total Number of Attempts for NEET UG Exam
Before 2018, candidates faced restrictions on how many attempts they could take the NEET exam. However, these restrictions were removed with amendments made in 2018.
