All About the NDA Exam 2024 – Overview
The National Defense Academy (NDA) is the only joint defense service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together before joining their respective services.
Applicants to the NDA are selected through a written exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), followed by comprehensive interviews by the Service Selection Board (SSB) and medical tests. Eligibility Criteria for NDA
Every year, the UPSC issues the eligibility criteria for the NDA Exam on its official website at www.upsc.gov.in, considering factors such as age, educational qualifications, physical standards, and nationality. Initially, the NDA Exam was only open to unmarried male candidates, but now female candidates are eligible to apply.

NDA 2024 Exam Pattern
The NDA exam consists of two stages: the written examination and the SSB interview. The written examination is divided into two parts: Mathematics (300 marks) and the General Ability Test, which includes 200 marks for English and 400 marks for General Knowledge. The NDA written exam consists of 900 marks.
After the written exam, results are announced on the UPSC website. Qualified candidates then advance to the next stage, the SSB interview. The SSB interview is a five-day process conducted in two stages: the Psychological Aptitude Test and the Intelligence Test. Based on their preferences, successful candidates are then assigned roles in the Army, Navy, or Air Force wings of India. The first paper of the NDA exam focuses on mathematics and carries a total of 300 marks. Thus, a clear preparation strategy and a planned approach are essential.
